The Next Grad Show captures the milestones and achievements of the York/Sheridan Program in Design’s class of 2018 over the course of their undergraduate degree. Bringing together the students, industry and public, this showcase is an opportunity to celebrate the graduating class and highlight their continuous growth and ambition. We have been crafting our skills and trying to push the limit with every project. We are constantly looking for the next challenge. We are not simply creating the next design—we are telling the next story, envisioning the next experience, and starting the next movement. Through this show we are taking the next step in our lives and are proud to share this moment with you.
Now in its 7th year, the Toronto Design Offsite Festival (TO DO) is Canada’s largest cultural celebration of design with over 100 exhibitions and events. Emphasizing the city as a hub for creativity, TO DO takes design and art out from the studio and into the urban sphere, bringing people together to celebrate contemporary culture. For the first time, this year the York University/Sheridan College Program in Design participated in the festival through an exhibition at Gallery 50. Inviting audiences to “Engage in the Unexpected”, the graduating class unveiled a preview of YSDN2017, the branding philosophy behind their capstone showcase.
