Sheridan Students Participate in Digifest 2014
Digifest will take place May 8 – 10, 2014 at Corus Quay on Toronto’s waterfront.
This year, we are proud to announce that a group of Sheridan Interaction Design students made it to the final round of Digifest’s It’s A Start competition, and will be making our college proud by presenting their work among industry professionals. The project is called “Shake Off,” and it is an app that allows users to select their favourite team and shake their phone to show support, thereby gauging the amount of fans currently cheering for each team. The student group includes: Deron Li, Riley Co, Tammy Le, Kaye Mao and Ali Jazayeri.
Digifest is the place to go to see the technologies, trends, innovations and designs which are influencing our futures and changing the world we live in. Digital Urbanism, Digifest 2014’s theme, seeks to express how our cities are being remade through emerging technology. The blending of physical space with digital assets will be explored through a series of keynote lectures, panel discussions, hands-on 3D printing workshops, an entrepreneur challenge, maker showcase and student showcases. International speakers will address emerging trends in interactive design, social issues and the maker culture and include the creator of Arduino, the developer of Smart Highways, Disney Interactives research, CEOs of the most innovative design firms, clean technology gurus, leaders in gaming and much much more. Join us May 8th to 10th, at Corus Entertainment on Toronto’s waterfront, to meet the people who are expanding the boundaries of digital creativity.
As a forum for emerging designers and thinkers, Digifest would like to offer all school staff, faculty and students an additional discount of 20% off!
