Last October, Art Fundamentals students officially cut the ribbon during the grand opening for the ‘living wall.’ If it hasn’t already caught your eye, it’s a wall-size canvas that is open to any medium, any topic/imagery and is always refreshed with new creativity (on a weekly or even daily basis).

Art Fundamentals program coordinator Peter Palermo explains: “This wall is a form of communication. It is monitored by the students who have the opportunity to collaborate with each other and express creativity and sometimes frustration!” Art Fundamentals is a one-year foundation program, that helps students to build portfolios. Many continue at Sheridan in other FAAD programs. It  provides curriculum in illustration, animation, visual effects, textile design and more. This collaborative mural project helps build community and confidence among students.
