Sheridan Animation professor and stop-motion animator Chris Walsh’s horror film The Shutterbug Man was selected as part of the Canadian Showcase for the Ottawa 2015 International Animation Festival (OAIF). The festival’s screenings represent the best new animation work selected from over 2,000 entries. They feature a mixture of short independent films, TV commercials, series, student films and music videos.

The Shutterbug Man was also made its Quebec premiere after getting selected for the Fantasia Festival in Montreal. It will be screened on July 28th at the J.A. De Seve Theatre.

Walsh described the film in this way:

It was a chance to contribute to the dark gallery of cinematic monsters that our culture finds both repulsive and alluring.”

The OIAF awards will be held from September 16th to September 20th. Individual tickets will be available online soon, and 30 minutes before for all other screenings. To purchase tickets, visit here. You can also read more on Walsh’ film by reading an older post from our blog here.
