enRoute Air Canada Film Festival selects the top 20 animated films across Canada to take part in their showcase.

Ten third-year Bachelor of Animation students will have their 2D film featured as part of enRoute Air Canada’s film festival. The four minute film “Overcast” tells the story of how two kids get caught in a storm as two clouds battle in the sky for their attention. The film was a group effort by students Crystal Cheung, Carly Dziob, Omar Elhindi, Siwei Jiang, Francois Jeun, Olga Kim, Ju Hwan Lee, Robbet Naranjo, Steve Walker and Tim Yan. They were mentored by Jim Caswell. Their music was composed by Canadian musicians Iain Howie and Andrew Bennett.

“Overcast” was selected along with 19 other films across Canada and will compete for enRoute’s Film Festival People’s Choice Award winner which will be announced in November. The films will also play on Air Canada enRoute Inflight Entertainment in the Canadian Movies category from August to November 2015, with a new selection appearing each month. Public events will take place in Montreal and Toronto. Follow our enRoute’s official Facebook page to stay up to date on festival news and event invitations.
