Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design at National Portfolio Day
In October and November, Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design faculty members Mark Komza (Animation) and David How (Media Fundamentals) visited three US portfolio events hosted by the National Portfolio Day Association (NPDA). FAAD has participated in these events for a number of years.
Mark attended events in Ann Arbor, Michigan as well as in New York City, where he was struck by the range of students he talked to—some completely unaware that Canada is also English-speaking, others well aware of Sheridan’s reputation. David represented FAAD in Chicago, which also hosts a huge event with up to 5,000 students in attendance.
Both David and Mark agree that representing FAAD at NPDA events are terrific opportunities for faculty representatives to meet students as well as faculty from across North America, and share information about FAAD programs outside of Ontario. FAAD looks forward to continuing to build these connections that will help build our profile across North America.
