Design Canada screens at Sheridan College

Design Canada screens at Sheridan College’s SCAET building.

On November 27, 2018 Sheridan College was one of the select locations in Ontario to host a screening of Design Canada, a new documentary film following Canada’s heritage of graphic design. The film screened in Sheridan’s SCAET building at the Trafalgar campus, and was well received by guests, students, and faculty.

Greg Durrell, the director of the film, was at Sheridan to present the documentary. Durrell also prepared a short video to inspire students to create posters based on the design of the film. Students from Jay Dart’s (Bachelor of Design) classes and Atanas Bozdarov’s (Art and Art History) design classes displayed their posters outside of the theatre for the screening.

Brian Donnelly, Sheridan professor in the York / Sheridan Joint Program in Design, was featured in the film and hosted a Q&A after the screening.
