Mural in Honour of Professor Emeritus Annie Smith installs in the Centre for Student Success
Herbarium Medicalus (Medical Plants): the Princess Margaret Codex, is a 4 x 12-foot mosaic made of stone, ceramic, glass and cement. It was created by a group of Art & Art History Program students in Professor Carmelo Arnoldin’s Past and Present Techniques class in 2005, in honour of Professor Emeritus Annie Smith. Since January 2006, its home was in the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto.
In December 2018, the mural was relocated to Sheridan’s Trafalgar campus.
Annie underwent surgery and received cancer treatment at the Princess Margaret Hospital, and had the mural located in the waiting room for cancer patients. The mural has been recently relocated and is now installed in the Centre for Student Success in the B-Wing of the Trafalgar campus. Here, this beautiful mural will be on view for our students, professors, and staff.
