The Art Lending Library Launch

On September 18, the Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design (FAAD) and the Creative Campus Galleries (CCG) welcomed over 25 staff from Sheridan’s campuses to the launch of the Art Lending Library.

Ronni Rosenberg (Dean of FAAD) and Dr. Catherine Hale (Director of Creative Campus) introducing the Art Lending Library at the launch event.

Through the Art Lending Library, members of the Sheridan community can borrow artwork to install in office spaces across our three campuses. The artworks were acquired through the Graduating Student Awards program, in which members of the CCG team visit studios to interview and select graduating students from across FAAD. Awarded students’ work becomes part of the Sheridan Public Art Collection.

Due to high demand, the launch included works from a folio of prints produced by FAAD faculty in the 1970s, which we have called Treasures from the Archive.

Participants visited artwork displays in the SCAET building and the Sheridan Student Showcase in B wing to cast their ballots for the work of their choice. All of the works selected will be installed in office spaces this week, where they will remain for a year.

Showcasing the great work of our students and faculty will continue to enhance our campus spaces. Thank you to the Sheridan community for your support of the Art Lending Library initiative.
