Theatre Sheridan Gala Celebrates 40 Years

Theatre Sheridan celebrated 40 years in 1920s-style on Friday Feb. 24. Technical Production students transformed the Marquee into a speak easy for the event, and second year Music Theatre students hosted the event dressed in 20s garb, leading guests past rumrunners and police to the Marquee, where a knock and password was required for entry. Guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and songs from the 20s before being raided by theatre students, who led them into the theatre ‘for questioning’. Here, Music Theatre students performed Chicago for the crowd, and then everyone was ushered back to the Marquee for a special performance by the Come From Away cast. “It was a great night to showcase our students, celebrate 40 years of the theatre, and thank our patrons,” said Associate Dean of Visual and Performing Arts, Michael Rubinoff.
